ME News - Koh Tachai, an island in Thailand seventy kilometers north of Phuket, is closed since 15 May 2016 for public untill further notice With the closure, the government wants to give nature the chance to recover. Due to the ecological damage caused by mass tourism the environment is unable to restore itself. They will evaluate the environmental recovery year by year and reconsider later the opening of this beautiful island again for visitors. The beach on the island has a capacity of seventy people, but sometimes there were more than a thousand tourists and there were a lot of food stalls and boats. That caused the island to be damaged. Koh Tachai Island is located at the northern most tip of the Similan National Park. It is one of the latest additions to the National park area together with the island of Koh Bon. On Koh Tachai you will find beautiful white beaches and azure crystal clear waters all around it. TEXT Thierry Hanan Scheers PICTURES onlinegoods4you.com YOU MIGHT ALSO FIND THIS INTERESTING
