Greece has, due to its location on the Mediterranean Sea, a Mediterranean climate, with warm dry summers and cooler wet winters. It is said that the sun shines 300 days a year.
Athens is the capital city of Greece with a metropolitan population. It is in many ways the birthplace of Classical Greece, and therefore of Western civilization.
